The Ukrainian Military Society in the 228th Regiment was created in April 1917 with the assistance of the Katerynoslav Ukrainian Military Society. Pylyp Safronovich Kuryavy was appointed the chairman and representative of the society at all congresses, meetings and meetings in Kyiv by the council of the society of the regiment. It was he who signed the newspapers “Visti UCR” and “Narodna Volya” for the society in the information bureau of the Ukrainian Ukrainian SSR. With his participation, a lecture committee headed by Ensign Dubintsev was created, the topics of lectures “Political parties”, “What kind of school do we need”, “Federation and autonomy of Ukraine” and others were approved. The society took part (despite the lack of a uniform) in the organization of the Ukrainian parade in Katerynoslav (March 22, 1917), in holding the National Fund Day (June), during which 320 krb were donated. 60 kopecks for his needs, and Universal UCR was adopted. In June 1917, the regiment was sent from Katerynoslav to the Romanian front.
