In the Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after D. I. Yavornytskyi opened a stationary exhibition “Ukraine above all”, which is dedicated to important historical moments of our country and highlights the events of the Revolution of Dignity and the conduct of an anti-terrorist operation in the east of Ukraine.
The Euromaidan, the Revolution of Dignity – all this has today become an integral part of the history of the construction of Ukrainian statehood. The materials and documents collected at the exhibition make it possible to reproduce the stormy events in Ukraine from November 21, 2013 to February 22, 2014.
Since mid-April 2014, hostilities began in the east of Ukraine between the armed forces of Ukraine and units of supporters of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics and the Russian military. A difficult and tragic period in the history of Ukraine is told by documents and materials reflecting the conduct of an anti-terrorist operation in the east of Ukraine and the heroic deeds of Ukrainians who took part in the anti-terrorist operation and liberated the occupied territories of Ukraine in the east.
At the exhibition, more than 150 original documents and objects that were collected at the scene of the events and replenished the museum’s funds were used to reflect the events that were a manifestation of great strength, courage, dignity, faith and fortitude by Ukrainians.
Many exhibits related to the events on the Maidan were donated to the museum’s funds by an old friend – D.O. Pirkl.
